What is Applied

Kinesiology?

The Foundations.

Applied Kinesiology (AK) is a holistic practice that considers three fundamental pillars of health: the structural, biochemical, and emotional pillars. These pillars are used to assess and address various aspects of a person's well-being.

A fundamental aspect of AK is the practice of muscle testing, which serves as a powerful tool to identify and distinguish dysfunction within the body. Muscle testing involves evaluating the strength, tone, and responsiveness of specific muscles. Practitioners apply controlled pressure to these muscles and assess the response, observing for any signs of imbalance, or dysfunction. It's not about strength; it's about how the muscles respond. Every muscle in the body is linked to different organs and systems in the body, so it provides valuable information about how each body system are working together.

Structural.

The structural pillar of AK focuses on the physical aspects of health and well-being. It includes the evaluation and adjustment of the body's physical structures, such as the muscles, bones, and joints.

Biochemical.

The biochemical pillar of AK addresses the impact of nutrition and biochemistry on a person's health. It considers the role of diet, nutrition, and biochemical processes within the body.

It focuses on optimising the body's biochemical processes and supporting overall health through dietary changes, nutritional supplements, and lifestyle adjustments.

Emotional.

The emotional pillar of AK recognises the mind-body connection and the influence of emotional and mental factors on physical health.
